•Lock your MAC Quickly
In MAC OS X, by default, there is no option/shortcut to lock the machine. Instead of installing third party applications, go to System Preferences and open the Security settings. Check on the box that says “Require password immediately after sleep/screen saver”. Go back to System preferences and open Expose and Spaces settings. In the Expose tab, set one of the four corners to “Start Screen Saver”. Now simply activate the screen saver by taking the mouse cursor to the set corner and it will ask you for the password to access the desktop. Make sure that you set a password for your account first, from the Accounts section in System Preferences.
